I'll never stop comparing myself to Bill Watterson. The man was and is my hero, not only because of his talent, but also because he created Calvin and Hobbes because he loved Calvin and Hobbes. And while I may never equal his talent, I do feel like I've captured his spirit for creation.
See, I don't make A Starfarer's Guide for money, or for recognition, or even for you. I'm doing it because I love it, and that's always going to be a good enough reason for me.
That said, if you enjoy the comic, I am sincerely grateful for that. Grateful and a little tickled. I want to make something I'll enjoy, and I'm always going to push myself to make better stuff than what I've made before. And if you're enjoying this thing I made because I liked it, well hey. You're probably a pretty cool person. And I hope you like the stuff I makein the future even more.
You can support the comic by buying it! The books are available for purchase here. These prints are great quality, with full color images and all the interested reader notes included, as well as some bonus margin artworks in the later volumes. They are, also, not exactly incredible value-per-strip when the comic is available (partially in color even) for free online. I get that. But if you want to support the comic financially this is how you do that right now. I will probably compile the first five volumes into a single omnibus at some point after volume 5 is all online. That will be better value for sure.
You can also support the comic by reading it and sharing it. I would point you toward my social media accounts if you wanted to get in touch but yikes, have you seen social media lately? Yeah I uh, I don't really do that these days. But you can still get in touch by emailing contact@starfarersguide.com. Or I guess you can hit me up on Discord at .generalchang, and if you're lucky you might catch the elusive Instagram post at spendialdalovey. Those're the only social platforms I'm at all active on anymore. I'm glad you're here, and I hope you're enjoying the ride.
